A smart looking gentleman called Merovich Farfoot is preparing his father's medicine as it's the last bit he's got and he's waiting for more..His father is suffering from The Nightfire Plague a infection that takes effect during the night which if left untreated can lead the patient's heart to explode and release a poison into the atmosphere, killing and infecting all. So desperate for money he enters The Grand Racquet Games to win the grand prize of 100,000 gold pieces to pay for the treatment. Along the way he meets a slightly bigger than him man called Jack"Gold Shoes" and rescues him from an evil Tennis player with 5 arms and a chainsaw for a racket that he uses to take his victim's head off. They become friends and both enter the games together
